Woodrow Wilson High School welcomes back, Ms. Logan Ragland as a new mathematics instructor.
An alumni of Woodrow, Ragland served as president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was a strong participant in a variety of sports. Additionally, the love of mathematics was present throughout Ragland’s high school career, providing an opportunity for her to excel where others may have struggled.
Last year, Ragland completed a double major in psychiatric education and applied mathematics with a minor in statistics. Today she teaches freshmen the foundation of all math-based courses. Her limited free time is filled with camping, pickleball, hiking, or paddle boarding instead of studying for her next exam.
Though her family shows a rich history of educators, Ms. Ragland did not always want to follow in the footsteps of her aunts and grandparents. “Prior to teaching, I actually wanted to be a researcher in physiology and kinesiology. However, my brother inspired me to become a teacher instead. He struggled in school with materials and the atmosphere, I wanted to be a teacher that he needed at the time,” she said.
Thus far, Ragland has enjoyed the remarkable power her students demonstrate inside and outside of the classroom. “One of many things, I have enjoyed thus far includes watching and hearing about my students succeed in their activities. From the JROTC, band, and even their jobs.”
