The Woodrow Wilson High School swim season has officially come to a close with the conclusion of the regional meet. On Saturday, Feb 10, the team competed at the regional level against 15 other schools in Bridgeport. Preparation for the competition included after school practices at the Beckley YMCA. In addition to regionals, the team also competed in seven meets across the year. Robert McClain, swim coach, reports that his favorite accomplishment was, “just watching kids who struggled to swim, swimming like a regular swimmer in just three months.” This year’s team mostly consisted of lower class men, however, two seniors accepted the challenge: Emily Carter and Presley Jarrell.
