Woodrow Wilson High School’s Snowball has been postponed to Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 7:00 o’clock in the Tamarack Conference Center. Snowball is an exclusive dance for upperclassmen, allowing attendance only for seniors, juniors, and invited sophomores. Snowball, which first entered the American lexicon in the twentieth century, refers to a dance where girls ask boys, similar to a Sadie Hawkins event.
The event is organized by a group known as Sub-Deb. Anyone who wishes to be crowned at Snowball, must join this club during their junior year. The title for Snowball is Snowball Queen and is awarded strictly to senior females. The dress code for Snowball strikes a balance between Homecoming and Prom: ladies typically wear longer dresses, while gentlemen usually wear vests and nice shirts. It is important to note that Snowball is a winter event, and the colors of attire often reflect this, with darker shades being the most popular. However, regardless of an individual’s outfit, the school dress code will still be enforced.
Snowball tickets were sold online through the popular website “Schoolcashonline.” The cost of a Snowball ticket was $35 for Woodrow students and $45 for outside guests. An outside guest is defined as anyone who is not a current student of Woodrow and is under the age of 21 years old. When bringing an outside guest, mandatory paperwork was required to be signed by the individual’s school principal and returned to the main office by early January. It is important to note that an outside guest must bring photo identification and stay with their date during the duration of the evening. Failure to do so could prevent entry and the ability to bring outside guests at a later time in the year.
