Woodrow Wilson High School’s chorus and concert band will be performing their annual winter concert on the 12 of December, between the hours of six and eight pm. Additionally, this year the two organizations will be joined by national music honors society, Tri-M. This will be the group’s first time performing at the otherwise traditional concert.
The concert will begin with the school’s choir, which is composed of Theater Performance and Chorus students. Their leader Mrs. Pamela Shrader will serve as the conductor, alongside Mrs. Jerri Stack who will be a piano accompanist. In total the group will perform nine songs, opening with “I Will Carry The Light,” arranged by Andy Beck. A variety of solos and duets will be featured throughout the nine selections.
Since Tri-M requires their members to be either in band, theater, or chorus, it seemed logical for the group to make a small presentation, as an intermission of sorts. Woodrow Wilson High School’s musical honors society will be orchestrating and singing two selections.
The Concert Band will conclude the concert with a mix of traditional and quirky winter originals. Together the group will perform over four songs including their marching introduction.
The concert will begin at 6:00, with the doors opening at 5:30. Admission will be free of charge and the community is encouraged to come in support. As a reminder no food or drinks will be permitted in Woodrow’s auditorium.
