Woodrow Wilson High School seniors, Madison Hanna and Jazmin Rose have started their own business. As of August 12, the company, Bev Co., has surpassed its starting fund.
In support of student dreams, Principal Ryan Stafford has allowed Hanna and Rose’s business to take part in many school activities. “We were allowed to set up for both senior expos and freshman orientation. From those three events, our company made 650 dollars in sales.” Additionally, the pair have prepared their delicious beverages at Texas Roadhouse and downtown Beckley. During home games administration has allowed the group to make sales before and during events in the student parking lot. Discounts are offered to service personnel at work as a thank you.
Beverages served include flavored lemonades, teas, and sodas. Redbulls have also been featured on the menu, with popular demand. “When trying to figure out what we wanted to offer our customers, beverages came to mind. Everyone loves an aesthetic and delicious drink.” Inspirations to sustain the business include serving the community and having a creative outlet.
“One goal we really have for ourselves is to obtain food trucks. A mobile stand would allow you to become more efficient. Additionally, we would also be able to serve a wider variety of beverages.” To accomplish this the group encourages students to come in support-making announcements inside and outside of school.
