Woodrow Wilson High School students have elected Mr. Charles Mignanelli for Staff Member of the Month. Known for his friendly and comedic nature, Mignanelli was a popular vote, outdrawing competitors by 75 percent. Able to connect with students and staff on a personable level, Mr. Charles Mignanelli is often referred to as “Mr. Migs.” Teaching subjects of American History and World Studies, he has been teaching for the previous six years. Inspired by his high school career, he hopes to help his students enjoy all Woodrow has to offer. “I loved high school when I was a kid and my goal is to help kids love it as much as I did.” Before becoming a flying eagle, Mignanelli taught history at George Washington High School in Danville, Virginia. Originally believing he wanted to be a business owner, he conducted sales for beverage companies and performed on stage. “I ended up living in New York City for 10 years, where I did stand-up comedy and auditioned for television and commercials.” Wanting a change, he returned to Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2016, earning a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a minor in history. Believing that “a heavy but manageable workload sets up success in anything students decide to do post-high school,” he has proven to demonstrate success, and has earned many awards: Teacher of Distinction and faculty’s choice for Staff Member of the Month (2022). During moments of free time, Mignanelli can be found enjoying ice skating, working out, watching movies, golfing, and listening to electric music. A moment of great pride in his career in education is helping one of his previous basketball players earn a $15,000 grant.
