Senior Spotlight: Amelia Shrader
April 20, 2023
Amelia Shrader is moving forward in her life as a graduate of 2023. A kind and loving person, Shrader always has a bright aura following her. During her time at Woodrow Wilson High School, she has learned that you have to keep pushing through the good and the bad regardless of how you feel.
She is currently deciding between a couple of colleges including Marshall and West Virginia Wesleyan College. She is planning to become a psychologist or psychiatrist. Amelia is graduating with 5 college credits and 33 credits in total. She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), the theater performance class, National Honors Society (NHS), TRI-M, Student Council, this year’s Sweetheart Court, 2023 Snowball’s Court, and Lassies. In addition, she is part of the majorette team and a former captain. She has taken the theater performance course all four years of high school and has participated in Beauty in The Beast, Fiddler on The Roof and The Little Mermaid.
“I’ve always loved theater. Even before I attended Woodrow, I would come to almost every rehearsal and performance with my mom,” she shares proudly. Shrader is also a student and media manager at the local dance center, Rhythms of Grace. She enjoys being part of the worship team and being a teen leader at her church.
“I would like to thank many people for this amazing high school career. My lassie coach, Mrs. Julie Doyle, for always being there and pushing me to be the best me. My teacher, Mrs. Stack, for all the support through the years. And last but certainly not least, Mrs. Calfee for being a fabulous vice principal and always being there when I needed her.”
